Events & Monthly Meetings

Henry Shaw Cactus and Succulent Society normally holds monthly meetings on Sundays throughout the year at Missouri Botanical Garden facilities in St. Louis. A club picnic is scheduled in September, while the December meeting is a holiday party.

Due to the impacts of COVID-19, HSCSS meetings and other activities will continue to be held online via Zoom into 2021. Guest speakers and other ideas are being arranged to maintain ongoing club programs while COVID-19 limits in-person events. Hopefully, as we near mid-year, the severity of the pandemic will lessen to where we can find opportunities to once again meet in person.

Next Meeting – March 14, 2021

Learn, Share … Win!

Meetings typically feature guest speakers or other varied programs of interest to succulent hobbyists. Hands-on workshops may focus on pruning, potting or dividing plants. Members are encouraged to bring in plants to show off and share their cultivation secrets. Books from the club’s library can be requested for pick up – and don’t forget the attendance prizes!

Henry Shaw Cactus and Succulent Society’s main event is its Annual Show and Sale, held each summer at Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis. At this multiday fund-raising event, member exhibitors bring their best specimens for judging and display in over 150 categories. Popular vendors supply thousands of starter and specimen plants for sale, too.
