2022 – Picnic at Pat’s

The September morning of the 2022 HSCSS Picnic started with a cool, steady rain. Mike Hellmann, who has been in charge of the picnic weather for years, was quoted as saying, “I’m working on it, things will get better.” By the time the festivities began, the rain had moved out of the area.

Pat Thomann hosted the picnic at her home in South St. Louis County. Filled with many mature and well-grown plants on display, her greenhouse was a big hit. The event was fun, and the food was good, too. Thanks to Pat, Mike, and all those whose hard work and dedication made it a success.

The photos here show familiar faces as well as new ones. As longtime members reminisced, newer ones joined in, sharing thoughts and stories in the informal and peaceful setting. Did we catch you?
