As an Affiliate Society of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America, HSCSS encourages membership in CSSA. Joining CSSA helps to support the organization’s mission of conservation, research, outreach and educational projects.

If you are a CSSA member and have not renewed your membership, now is the time to do so. If you are currently not a member, please consider joining. A printable membership form is available here. You can also join via the CSSA website at
https://cssa.myshopify.com/collections/join-cssa.

Starting in 2022, there are two membership levels for individuals. You can choose either standard Domestic Membership for $50 per year or Supporting Membership for $20 per year. Additional members in the same household can join as Associate Members for $10.

Full membership includes four annual issues of the Cactus and Succulent Journal, while Supporting Membership does not. You can view the tables of contents of current and past journals on the CSSA website. Many of HSCSS’ guest speakers are regular contributors to the CSSA journal.

Other CSSA membership benefits include:

  • If you are interested in growing cacti and succulents from seeds, the Seed Depot is a bargain. Seed packets are $1.50 per packet, and there is a large variety. Seeds are donated by CSSA members.
  • The To the Point newsletter contains growing tips from CSSA members. You  can request a complimentary copy at https://mailchi.mp/eef901b778cf/z8k1tpng1v . HSCSS member Rita Taylor recently had her article on lithops published there.
  • Participate in CSSA’s bimonthly Webinar Series featuring experts from around the world.
  • Access to the CSSA Convention and voting privileges.
  • Participate in CSSA’s members-only field trips to native habitats of cacti and other succulents.
